Local Hazard Mitigation Plan

The Pajaro Regional Flood Management Agency is kicking off efforts to develop a Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP). The purpose of PRMFA’s LHMP is to help reduce the impacts of natural hazards and disasters to the citizens, property, and critical infrastructure located within the jurisdiction of PRFMA. The Disaster Mitigation Act 2000 requires that local governments and special districts have a FEMA-approved and Board-adopted LHMP in order to maintain eligibility for certain FEMA pre- and post-grant funding opportunities. Community involvement is critical to the development of the LHMP.
